Moore Stuff

I am running out of ways to use our last name in the title. Can you tell? So nothing really new going on with the Moores. We are settling in to our new life pretty well. The mister and I went to a Marine Ball on Saturday and really had fun. There was about 450 people that attended. We got to get all dressed up and go out with other adults. It was nicely done. Not to mention they had an open bar. We hung out there and made sure we got our moneys worth...:-)
On Sunday we took on of the mister's co workers to dinner at Cabbages and Condoms. As you can imagine it made for some interesting conversations with the boys. The restaurant owner runs a non profit organization to educate people on Aids. He also owns 2 resorts in Thailand. Birds and the Bees and Cabbages and Condoms. Not really kid friendly. The pictures of us our with Contraceptive man. The food was good but the the 2 little guys were more interested in all the "balloons" in the room. Tanner understood to well what they were. Maybe I should be worried?
Today I took the boys to a Thai celebration at the Embassy. Loy Kathrong. You light these things they make, make a wish and send it off into the water. Did not really understand the whole thing. Some off the things they made were really pretty. The boys had a great time.
We have started to post pictures on Face book. Let us know if you are there and we can add you.

Moore Beach Adventure

Hello my faithful blog readers.....even though I don't know who you are because you don't leave messages and for all I know I could be writing this for nothing!!!
Get the point!
So the Mister took us to the beach over the weekend. It was amazing!! The weather was not all that great but it was something new and the boys loved it. It was very hot at the beach just rainy. Its very weird for it to look like it should be cold and blustery outside and then when you go out its hot and humid. The Mister keeps our apartment and hotel rooms very cold. You can see your breath sometimes. I think he moved to the wrong climate.
It was a 2 hour drive from Bangkok. We had to hire a driver because the Mister has not had time to pick up our van. Hopefully we will have it next week. We stayed at a Courtyard Marriott with a pool and kids room. Even with the rain the boys still swam in the pool and went to the beach. Its easy to do when its 100 degrees. The kids room had a movie theater, Internet, PlayStation oh and girls. That is what Tanner liked about the weekend. He met alot of girls. He was working it all weekend.
We went into town for dinner and met some amazing local people. The town we were in was called Cha Am. Very low key little village. We went back to same place we ate dinner on Friday and sat with the owners and talked for hours. They played with the boys, showed them magic tricks and filled us in on the towns history. All the while they kept bringing me Mai Tais. They don't put umbrellas in their drinks they put real flowers and a banana slice. Who knew! After dinner we moved down the street a little to a bar....I know right no way could we take the boys to a bar in Washington, but wait it gets better. Right next to the bar was a Internet cafe. It was pouring down rain so the boys played games and the Mister and I sat and had more Mai Tais!! We sat and talked to the owner all night did not hear a peep from the boys until their time ran out. Then they said they were starving. Thought we were going to have to go when the owner of the bar said she could make French fries and more Mai Tais!! What A brilliant idea!! Did not have to walk in the rain to find food and the Mai Tais would keep coming. I know your thinking wow that's a lot of alcohol. Don't worry I also ate alot of bananas. Soaked it right up! Thai peeps are very smart.
During the day the Mister had rented a motor bike so when it was not raining and before all of the Mai Tais he had taken the boys for rides all over town. They said it was the best weekend ever. I would have to agree. I will always look for bars conveniently located next to Internet cafes. That way the whole family will be happy!
We have decided to spend Christmas at the beach. Not sure where yet. It will be a very different Christmas for our family so we decided to make it special. If it is going to be 100 degrees then I would like to be on a beach. Yep you guessed it, with a Mai Tai!
Hope you all are doing well. We miss everyon so much but we are enjoying Thailand. Hope to hear from you soon.

Moore Thailand News

Hi Everyone

The boys are doing well and are off to a good school year. It took them awhile to get into the schedule but they are doing it. They have next week off for October break. They are really looking forward to it.Me, not so much. The mister has conferences Monday-Thursday at a hotel near the Embassy. He won't be home until 6PM all 4 days. I think he scheduled it that way on purpose. We are going to try and take them away for the last 3 days of their break. We are trying to get reservations at Dolphin Bay in Hua Hin. WWW.dolphinbayresort.com. The boys will have lots to do.
Nothing really new going on with us. We had our first BBQ with some new friends in our building and Paul's work. We had a great time not as wild as the parties in Washington but fun. The mister and I are weeding through our new peeps to see who could handle one of our usual "BBQ". No luck so far. Maybe our Washington peeps should come here and show them how its done!!
The mister was out of town over the weekend and the boys and I went to a mall called the Emporium for their Lost World exhibit. They had Elephants, snakes, birds, frogs and alot of other creepy boy things. Tanner loved it. He touched everything and had snakes hanging all over him. The other 3 chickens wanted no part of touching anything. I had a snake handed to me when I was trying to take pictures of Tanner. Iam guessing my screaming is what made him laugh and try it again and again. Really have to learn to speak Thai. Or maybe just the words "no freakin way"!!
Well I am off to bed...yes its early but there is nothing on TV to watch here!!!
Hope you all are doing well. We would love to hear from you.

Moore Thailand Viruses!!

Sorry for taking so long to update. I have had some kind of funky Thailand virus on and off for the last week and a half.
Our stuff is finally here. We have been unpacking since Wednesday. We got an e-mail today and our van is also ready.
More later. Gotta go to bed and rest.
There are some pictures of moving in day and Conner at a birthday party. He got to drive go karts. He would not be able to do that in the States for another couple of years. You can see why in one of the pictures. He had a pretty bad crash. If someone knows how to get ahold of O.S.H.A we could really use them here!!!

Hi
So wow have we been busy. Starting to meet more and more people and with that comes more and more things to do and see. I am having alot of fun with my new friend...I mean my associate (is that better AJ?)She has a pretty thick Greek accent, so its been alot of fun making fun of her. For me not so sure how fun it is for her. She told me the other day she needed to go get a "humper" umm...I'm sorry a what? I told her I didn't know her well enough to help her with that!! Then she explained it was to put dirty clothes in! Oh a "hamper". Still makes me giggle. The funny thing is the Thai people understand her better.
The mister took the boys to the USS Lincoln for a tour. They had a great time. Paul took great pictures. They were exhausted by the end of the day. They left at 9:30 and got back at 5PM. Just the way I like them. Sunday we spent the day at home. Doing boring stuff as the boys would put it.
While the boys were on their tour I went to an Expat fair at Bumrungrad hospital. The hospital is located right across the street from our Condo. Very convenient.
We had a great time. They had over 70 vendors there with lots of info for us about living in Thailand. They also had a Thai craft show there as well. Beautiful handmade crafts from the people in villages all over Thailand. I will be going again October 4th if anyone has anything they want me to look for. Jordan is also going to volunteer and the fair to earn community service hours. They have to help run the registers and bag the stuff up. He needs 10 hours mandatory a year to graduate. I am hoping he will do more. He wants to work at the orphanage near his school also. They have one with just babies and they like the kids to come and interact with them to socialize them. I am thinking it would also be good birth control!! A couple of hours screaming babies might make him make better choices later....I know I am always thinking!
This week I will be off touring other parts of the city with my new associates. (A)
I went to a coffee on Monday morning and met alot of other women through the American Women's Club. Great ladies. Shocked that I did not drink coffee coming from Seattle. Its a 110 degrees here I don't think I will start here either. They gave Joy and I a list of things to go and check out this week.
Tomorrow I am going to get a manicure. The Mister paid for a Spa place for me as gift to me for following him half way around the world and I have only used it once. Its a very nice place and very clean.
I wanted to thank everyone that has sent our family care packages and special requests. We love getting boxes filled with stuff we miss from home. So Thank you mom and dad, Mindy Pindy, AJ, Wendy and Aunt Gayle. It means a lot to us and the boys really appreciate it. Some things are very hard to get here and I really appreciate everyone helping us adjust. Our maid and I have a special hiding place for all the candy and when its really needed she knows when to bring it out for them. She is a health nut. I explained to her some of the stuff was for just me....the peanut butter cups AJ sent...my favs and she hid them from me and told me I could have one a day. Umm there really small and she doesn't know I can turn on the water works to get my way. Condo is not that big I find them eventually! Ok well I hope you enjoy the pictures. Yes my plant is still alive!! I know right I am so amazing in Thailand.
Oh I almost forgot the most important bit of info....Called GSO today to check the status of our shipment and they confirmed its here!! Woo Hoo... doing the happy dance. They said it should only take 5-7 days to get it cleared and sent up here. So maybe they can deliver next Monday she said. I think she could hear the desperation in my voice. If not next Monday the boys and I are going to stage our own protest at GSO!! They thought 100,000 protesters downtown were a problem wait until the hear what we have to say!! No xbox for 3 months are they kidding me!! We have issues.
